Buckets and Boots Awards Additional Grant Money
(PALO PINTO COUNTY, TX) – October 23, 2011― The Buckets and Boots Foundation announced today that it has awarded an additional $78,000 in grants to four Palo Pinto County fire departments based on grant applications that were submitted to its board of directors for review.
The Board received four grant applications prior to the October 1st quarterly deadline. A request was made by the PK Lake East Volunteer Fire Department for funds to replace a damaged fiberglass truck tank; by the Lone Camp Volunteer Fire Department for funds to aid in the purchase of a 2006 fire truck; by the Gordon Fire Department for funds to purchase miscellaneous tools and equipment needed by the department; and by the Brazos Volunteer Fire Department for funds to assist with the acquisition of a new fire truck. These grant requests were reviewed and discussed by the Buckets and Boots Foundation Board of Directors and grants were awarded for all four requests. Those serving on the Buckets and Boots Foundation’s Board are Lance Byrd, Nancy Richards, Mike Patterson and Craig James.
In September of this year, each of the eleven Palo Pinto County fire departments and the sheriff’s department were each awarded a $7,500 grant. With these four additional grants, the Buckets and Boots Foundation has now distributed $168,000 to local fire and sheriff departments. The Foundation will continue to review grant applications by Palo Pinto County fire departments and make additional grants as warranted. The quarterly deadline for grant applications for the next grant period is April 1st, 2011.
